TE2026 conference 👾👾

hey guys, it’s july 11 and its typhoon szn so i’m just quarantining in my dormitory with 5 roommates. i’ve been looking for a place to live cause i need to move out soon. but i’m still bored, so i decided to write this blog about my first conference experience last july 7!

so i attended the Transdisciplinary Engineering 2026 Conference in Tainan, Taiwan. a day before that, i took the high speed train to go from Taipei to Tainan, it took me about 2.5 hours. and i stayed in a hotel for a night, all because Tainan was so hot and i just didn’t have the energy to go out again.

the next day, i checked out at 8.30am and walked to the venue, which is The Magic School of Green Technologies, National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. then i met my friend and my advisor and attended the keynote speaker. during the first half of the day, i attended 3 presentations all regarding VR, agentic, and some makeup studies (i forgot). and after the lunch time, i was the first one to present in the second session. some people asked questions, and i just answered based on my knowledge. but unfortunately, during the next presentations, people started to leave and went to other rooms. and i stayed there because we still needed to obtain the certificates and also i feel bad for the later presenters where they didn’t have audience.

basically it all ended at 4.30pm, and i was going to take a picture with my friend and my advisor, but everyone seemed busy and the venue was closing. so i just went dinner with my friend and took the HSR back home to Taipei, it was so tiring and i was so sleepy haha.

anyway, it was an okay experience (i’m just being honest), because i was only there with my one friend, so it was not really appealing. it was not like 10 of my classmates went together with me and then we were attending something together. the food was also just okay. but much thank you to my advisor for funding this conference trip.

one takeaway from this conference: “try not to say the word AI challenge” 🤞🤞🤞
